BRCC on Pelican Sports TV

BRCC on Pelican Sports TV

Baton Rouge Community College is proud to announce a partnership with Pelican Sports TV to bring Bears and Lady Bears basketball to your television. Both programs are preparing for conference play and are excited for three home games to be broadcast by the network.

The first tape delay broadcast will be Monday, January 20th when BRCC plays host to Holmes Community College in an afternoon doubleheader. The contests versus Holmes will be the final preparations before the Bears and Lady Bears start Miss-Lou Conference play at the end of the month.  Game times are set for 2:00 and 4:00 pm.

For the first time in BRCC history, basketball games will be broadcast live on the night of Wednesday, February 5th.  BRCC welcomes Southern-Shreveport to town and the athletic department is planning a "Black Out" for the game. The first 1000 spectators at the game will receive a black BRCC Athletics t-shirt. The women's game begins at 6:00 pm; the men's game will begin approximately 20 minutes following the women's game.

The third and final installment will come on February 26th when BRCC bids farewell to the sophomores in their final home games.  BRCC will once again be facing Southern-Shreveport and game times are set for 6:00 and 8:00 pm. This broadcast will be brought to you via tape delay.
"BRCC Athletics is pleased to announce a continued partnership with Pelican Sports TV. The tape delay broadcasts have been very successful the past couple years and to have an opportunity to provide a live basketball broadcast is a first for BRCC," said Neil Hayhurst, athletic director at BRCC. "A special thanks needs to be given to the BRCC Student Government Association; because of their support we are able to make this partnership a reality."

The game will be called by the "Voice of the Bears and Lady Bears", Tommy Krysan, and he will be joined by Don Landry, who is a former head coach, athletic director and conference commissioner in the college ranks. All  games will be simulcast on Fox Sports Radio Baton R0uge, WUBR 910.
