Baton Rouge Lady Bears can not overcome an early lead by Southern Union State Lady Bison, this afternoon, in the LSUE Lady Bengals Classic. Southern Union State defeated Baton Rouge by the final score of 16 to 3, in five innings.
The Lady Bison got on the board first with one run in the first then they exploded for six runs, in the second inning, to take a commanding 7 to 0 lead over the Lady Bears. Southern Union would add three more runs, in the third inning, to lead; 10 to 0. The Lady Bears would fight back to score three runs, in the bottom of the third inning, to close the gap to 10 to 3. Baton Rouge's scoring would start when Allie Vincent would single to the catcher. Hallie Autin would double to right field scoring Vincent. Haleigh Laylle would hit a two run homer to left field. Those would be the only runs the Lady Bears could mustard. Southern Union State would score six more runs combined in the fourth and the fifth to take the 16 to 3, run rule victory in five innings.
Tori Brown got the victory for the Lady Bison, pitching four innings, allowing three runs on six hits while striking out three. Bailey Duhon got the loss for the Lady Bears, pitching five innings, allowing 16 runs on nine hits while striking out three.
Southern Union State out hit Baton Rouge 9 to 6. Baton Rouge committed two errors.

Allie Vincent went 1 for 3 with 1 run
Blayne Pence went 1 for 2
Hallie Autin went 1 for 2 with 1 run and 1 RBI
Haleigh Laylle went 2 for 2 with 1 run and 2RBIs. Including a two run home run
The Lady Bears will be back in action on Saturday February 2, as they conclude the LSUE Lady Bengals Classic with a 12 pm rematch with San Jac and a 2:30 pm game versus Coastal Alabama North.
