Baton Rouge hosts Northeast Mississippi Community College on Thursday evening for a men's and women's doubleheader. The Lady Bears will begin the evening at 5:30 pm, looking to avenge a 76-72 defeat at the hands of the Lady Tigers last week.
Coach Lee's freshman-filled squad is struggling in the early part of the season, getting off to a 1-5 start is a far cry from last season's Region 23 Championship. A silver lining for Baton Rouge is last year's Lady Bears began the season 1-3 before rattling off nine straight wins and kick-starting the magical run.
The men's team beat Northeast Mississippi 67-63 on November 4th, but have dropped two close games since their last victory. After a last minute loss to Holmes at home, followed by a double overtime loss at Copiah-Lincoln, Coach Wilson's team finds themselves with a 2-3 record. Losing three games by a combined eleven points, the Bears have had opportunities to close out each game.
They will look to bounce back tonight versus the Tigers of Northeast Mississippi; game time is set for 7:30 pm.
