It was an ugly win, but it was a win tonight for the Lady Bears basketball team over Louisiana College JV. First quarter consisted of very sloppy play by both the Lady Bears and the Lady Wildcats. Neither team made a basket for the first three minutes of the game. Harlee Docuet came ,in the game, and sparked the Lady Bears with 2 three pointers and Celica Sterling found her rhythm. The Lady Bears led at the end of the first quarter 15 to 6 over the Louisiana College JV Lady Wildcats. In the second quarter, the Lady Wildcats went on an 11-0 run to tie the score at 17. With the score tied at 17, the BRCC Lady Bears went on a 14 to 2 run of their own to close out the second quarter. The halftime score was BRCC 31 and Louisiana College JV 19. The Lady Bears came out flat again in the third quarter. Louisiana College JV outscored the Lady Bears in the third quarter 10 to 8. At the end of the third quarter the score was 39 to 29. The fourth quarter was an even contest with both clubs scoring 15 points. BRCC had 18 turnovers compared to Louisiana College JV's 30 turnovers. Louisiana College JV outrebounded the Lady Bears 39 to 32. The final score tonight was BRCC Lady Bears 54 and Louisiana College JV Lady Wildcats 44. The Lady Bears improve their season record to 5 - 10.

Celica Sterling led all Lady Bears with 26 points. Celica shot 44 % from the floor.

Aliyah Cooper scored 5 points, added 2 assist, 8 rebounds and 5 steals
The Lady Bears will be back in action this Saturday January 27, as they travel to Perkinston, Mississippi to take on region 23 opponent Mississippi Gulf Coast.
