Lady Bears Softball Team earns NJCAA Academic Team Honors

The NJCAA announced their 2018-2019 Academic Teams of the year and the Baton Rouge Community College Lady Bears Softball team garned recognition.  To be eligible for this honor, a team has to have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. There were 738 programs that earned a 3.0 or higher and a record number 135 NJCAA softball programs that received this recognition. Colby Community College was named Softball Academic Team of the Year with a GPA of 3.67.  Our BRCC softball team finished the year with a 3.25 GPA. BRCC ranked 79th out of 135 softball programs.  The Lady Bears also had 5 student athletes named to the All-Academic teams.  Those student athlete include: Lacey Bonvillain (first team), Cori Breaux (third team), Shelby Breaux (third team), Payge Hebert (third team) and Courtney Ortgeo (third team).
