Bear fall to 0-2 on Young Season with loss to NWF Raiders

The Baton Rouge Bears concluded the Raider Classic this evening with a game against the host team, Northwest Florida State College Raiders. This marked the first meeting in program history between the two teams. The Raiders capitalized on strong offensive play and a deep bench, defeating the Bears with a final score of 91 to 67.
In the first half, the Raiders quickly took control, scoring the first three baskets of the game. While the Bears finally managed to score, the Raiders then went on a 6-0 run, extending their lead to ten points. Following this, the Raiders achieved another 12-0 run, increasing their advantage to 24-7. By halftime, the Raiders held a commanding 49 to 25 lead over the Bears.
The second half mirrored the first, with the Bears struggling offensively while the Raiders thrived. Ultimately, the Raiders defeated the Bears by a score of 91 to 67.
Jevion Sam led the Bears in scoring with 12 points, while DJ Shine was the top scorer for the Raiders, contributing 18 points.
With this loss, the Bears' record falls to 0-2, while the Raiders improve to 2-0 in the young season.

The Bears will return home to the Bonne Sante Wellness Center this Monday, November 3, to face the Florida Coastal Prep Spartans in the Second Annual Education Game, with tip-off set for 11 AM. We will be welcoming students from Cedarcrest and WHAM, along with a performance by the GEO Pre-Band.
