Bears close out home schedule with a victory over the Aces

Saturday, February 21, 2026: Men's Basketball 

Baton Rouge, LA 

This afternoon, the Baton Rouge Bears stepped out of conference play to face the Baton Rouge Post Grad Academy Aces. It was Sophomore Day in the Bears Den, and we recognized eight sophomores and one special individual. The student-athletes honored were Tyrael-Cage Heke, Kentrell Freeman, Dylan Dominique, Noah Toussaint, Bryce Coleman, Chad Jones, Cardez Norman, Jok Job, and Byron Starks Jr., to whom our season was dedicated. 

The game was tightly contested in the first quarter, but the Bears managed to take a ten-point lead into halftime, with a score of 52-42. In the second half, the Bears emptied their bench, playing every eligible player on the roster. They outscored the Aces 62 to 59 in the second half, ultimately earning a 114 to 101 victory. 

Amir Abdul-Raul led the Bears in scoring with 33 points. Four players scored in double figures: Abdul-Raul, Dylan Dominique, Noah Toussaint, and Bryce Coleman. 

With this victory, the Bears improved to 13-15. Baton Rouge leads the all-time series against Baton Rouge Post Grad Academy with 7 wins and 0 losses. 

Bears Highlights:  

• Amir Abdul-Raul: 33 points, 5 rebounds  

• Dylan Dominique: 21 points, 5 rebounds  

• Noah Toussaint: 15 points, 3 assists 

Next Up: 

The Bears will conclude the regular season this Wednesday, February 25, in New Orleans against the Delgado Dolphins. Tip-off is set for 5:30 PM in the Michael Williamson Center.
