Saturday February 16, 2019: Softball
Co-Lin Lady Wolves defeat the Baton Rouge Lady Bears, this morning, by the final score of 9 to 2, in Wesson, Mississippi. Lady Bears had some issues waking up their bats this morning. The Lady Bears found their stroke late, in the game, but it was not enough to overcome the early deficient.
Co-Lin Lady Wolves got on the board first with two runs, in the first, to take and early 2-0 led. Baton Rouge would score one run, in the second, to inch closer at 2 to 1. Payge Hebert would lead off the inning by reaching base on a Lady Wolves error. She would later score when Shelby McDonald would reach base on another Lady Wolves' error.
Co-Lin would score three more runs in the third and one more in the fourth to extend their lead to 6 to 1. The Lady Bears and Lady Wolves would each score one run in the fifth inning. After five, the score was Lady Wolves 7 and Lady Bears 2. In the fifth, the Lady Bears bats found a bit of life. Courtney Ortego would lead off the inning with a double to center field, and later score on a double by Krystal Stubbs.
Co-Lin would add some insurance, in the sixth, with two runs to extend their lead to 9 to 2.
Kaytlon Ward got the victory for Copiah Lincoln. She pitched five innings allowing two runs on two hits. Bailey Duhon got the loss for Baton Rouge. She pitched six innings, allowing nine runs on eight hits, while striking out five.

Hallie Autin went 1 for 4
Haleigh Laylle went 1 for 4
Courtney Ortego went 2 for 3 with 1 Run
Krystal Stubbs went 1 for 3 with 1 RBI
The Lady Bears will play Spoon River College next at 1:00 pm at Co-Lin, in Wesson.
